Description
Msgtag is a desktop application that tells you when your emails have been received and opened. It's great for keeping track of important emails. Msgtag works alongside your existing mail program, sending you an email the moment your message is viewed that lets you know they've got the message. The notification also details when the message was sent, when it was viewed, and what the delay has been in between.
Msgtag runs in the background while you send your email as usual. This means that you don't have to write your message into a strange little box, or alter email addresses before you send anything. And recipients don't need to do anything different either. There are no annoying pop-up windows asking them to send a notification back to you — all they see is a small Msgtag footer stating that you've been notified of them having received the message.
Msgtag works on popular email programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Incredimail, Eudora, Pegasus, or Netscape Mail which uses the SMTP protocol (which almost every home computer uses). GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo!, AOL and similar services do not use the SMTP protocol, and so cannot be used to run Msgtag. Additionally, Msgtag will not work with an MS Exchange mail server. You can send message-tagged email to Hotmail, Yahoo! and AOL addresses, and use these services to receive your receipts, but you cannot send tagged messages from these services.
