Apple held the long-awaited “Wonderlust” event two days ago, where the company announced the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus and the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, ultimately ditching its proprietary Lightning port in favor of USB-C. Now, the new USB-C port on the new iPhones comes with multiple advantages. Most notably, you can now quickly use the iPhone 15’s USB-C port to add more juice to your Apple Watch or AirPods. Apple did mention this advantage during the “Wonderlust” keynote but only touched the topic and moved on. How do you charge Apple accessories with the new iPhone 15? The new feature seems to work as you would expect it to. You can now simply connect your Apple Watch or AirPods to the iPhone 15’s USB-C port, and they’ll start charging. On the Apple Watch, the feature works via the USB-C charging puck. It works via USB-C to USB-C cable for the updated AirPods Pro 2, and via USB-C to Lightning cable for the older AirPods. Apple was reportedly working on a reverse wireless charging feature that would have worked by placing the AirPods or Apple Watch on the back of the iPhone. However, that feature still hasn’t seen the light of day. We are unsure whether the company is still working on that feature. Even if they are, it won’t appear until next year.
